Hi Group;
Just joined last night... Debby has been a great help in the past.
My mom (who has recently been infected by the genealogy bug) and I are
planning a trip to Cass County this coming Friday. Her family (TURLEY) is
from the Young America area, and I have researched them in Cass, Howard,
Carroll, White, Greene, Tippecanoe Cos in IN, a couple of areas in KY, a
small part of NC, back to the 1700s in Fairfax Virginia, where we just moved
from.
Can anyone advise me as to the best places to visit in a day trip. Am
looking for elusive vital records on TURLEY, CRIPE, JOHNSON, and MENDENHALL
family members. I know several are buried in Young America (thanks to
Debby) and also over in Flora in Carroll Co.
I thought we would try the county court-house. Can a person just walk-in
and request records, or do you have to fill out forms and request them to be
mailed?
I also thought we would try the library in Logansport. Is there a genealogy
society or historical society available with info?
Thanks in advance for the help.
