Kathleen-This is very interesting as I know the Erie Avenue buildings
well. Both are still there. The first one had some kind of a store my
husband and I use to go to-I can't remember what it is. I don't know what
is there now but it is 2 storied.
Now, the 2nd building is STILL Posinelli's. My daughter and I were in
Logansport week after Dec. Day and drove past it. When I was in high
school, my dad, who was an interior decorator would come home on Fri and
say---What do you want for supper? We would say MEAT BALL Sandwiches. He
would say, Let me get cleaned up and I'll go get them. Before he left he
would ask how many each of us could eat. They were on white bread and
absolutely the best ever. One evening he said we would all go and eat in
the restaurant part of the tavern but they just didn't taste as good. I
guess the 10 minutes it would take dad to get home, the sauce soaked into
the bread making them better.
I graduated from Logansport in 1951 and live in TX now. My great uncle
had Shiff's Shoe Store, another uncle was a Policeman and Chief of
Police, another a fireman. My maiden name was 'Morris'
Gene Monahan was older than me. I don't know if he is still living. Wish
I could help you on the rest of your family. Sallie
