I'm not sure what their original country of origin
was. I'm thinking England but I have no proof of
that. Benjamin's parents were William Platt and Sarah
Roads, they married in Highland County, Ohio in 1816.
Both were from Virginia. I think Sarah's father's
name was Jacob Roads and he was born about 1755 (give
or take 5 years) and in 1830 Jacob was still living
and he was listed as having a woman living with him
who was near his age (these may or may not have been
Sarah's parents).
That's a long, complicated answer to a short, simple
question :)
