Robin, your parden is accepted but not needed. Somehow I got unsubscribed
from INCASS and just got back on this week. I missed being on as I am
from Logansport, graduated in 1951.
Have you seen THE HISTORY OF CASS COUNTY, INDIANA 1913 EDITION by DR.
JEHU POWELL, PRESIDENT OF CASS COUNTY, INDIANA HISTORICAL SOCIETY?
When my husband's mother died we got the Nelson copy of 2 volumes. His
grandpa James Nelson is in it. I sold it at auction at Deacon 3 1/2 years
ago. It went to Bunker Hill. That summer I typed off lots of pages but
should have done lots more.
There's an older book also but I can't remember the name or year.
I would think your grgrandf would be in one of them as he was very
important to Logansport History. The Historical Society might have a copy
OR the Library. Have you tried the Library? They have lots of Genealogy
Books in the Gen. Room. OH, the Library did have good newspaper tapes
which you can put on the reader. Since you know approximate years I would
think you could find his obit. You can make copies, use to be .25c may be
more now.
There was a Geneva Nelson who lived in Logansport. You might contact
Cheryl Shaver, feature writer as this lady was a friend of her mothers'.
Today I remembered she was friend to Eddie Newburn's mother or MAYBE she
was his mother, remarried. I just haven't thought about her for a long
time. Eddie was married to my husband's cousin, Crystal Plank Newburn.
Sure hope I haven't confused you too much.
Wish I could help you more. My husbands' family came from Washington
Twp-Richason's-and Nelson's Deer Creek Twp-Deacon area. Sallie
