Dear Jim,
I'm glad you wrote Jack. My phone book is 3 1/2 years old but they have
lived in the same farm house since Don [dad] retired from farming.
I've been thinking about the Berlet family and the name Ed comes popping
out-sure hope that was MR. B name.
Don B. sister married a Campbell. They had a boy and a girl, Doris, who
eventually lived next to us at Deacon. I can't think of her mother's
name-she was different than Don.
The Nelson's were pillars of Blue Ball Congregational Church on corner of
#218 & 300E, 2 months north of Deacon. The Berlet's along with most of
the people in this community went to Blue Ball. Some still do.
I told you Berlet Sr's lived on #218. We were married in 1951-this is my
husbands homelands-and Mrs. Berlet was alive then. My husband's cousin's
wife cleaned her house every week. Everything had to be moved and swept
under and behind. Sometime in the later 50's [not sure when] Mrs. B
passed away. That's when the above Doris Dishon, husband Kenny & children
moved into the #218 home. When Kenny's dad died about 1970, they got his
house next to us at Deacon. Doris and one son still live there.
I don't know if Don had other siblings. I think he is still living-no
obit that I remember. When he quit farming he and his wife, Helen, built
a nice home in the woods. At one time, maybe still, they were BIG
farmers.
I hope this IS your family. Sallie
