I know nothing of Thomas. My great, great grandmother shows up in the census of 1870
& etc. untill her death in 1911,but my great grandfather doesn't appear untill
1900 when he & his family are living with his inlaws there in Logansport.
My great grandparents, Seth & Clara Gallagan had 5 sons: Lansing (who's buried
@ Mt. Hope). Uncle Lansing lived & died in Logansport. Jesse Earl died @ 5 months old
(I have no info on him. He does not appear to be buried there.) Wilbur Thomas was killed
in WW1 & is buried in the vet's section @ Mt. Hope (he died & was buried on
the battlefiled in 1917, but was later brought back to Logansport & re-buried there in
1920). Theodore lived in South Bend untill the 1960s when he re-located in Pompano Beach,
Fla. He & his wife & son are buried there. Donald (my grandfather) lived in
Columbus, Ohio & is buried with my grandmother & parents there.(My father also had
a twin brother who lived in southern Ohio & is buried in Logan, Ohio)

Teri,
Do you know where Thomas is buried? I'm wondering why he isn't showing up
in the family plot.

Thanks! I live in Cleveland, Ohio so I'm planning a trip w/ my
sister there in the fall. The only grave photo I have is of my great
uncle Lansing Gallagan's grave. I'm going to scan it & send it later
tonnight.
Now for the info:
Hannah Brown Gallagan (from New York) married Thomas
Gallagan (an Irish immigrant) in Lake county, Ill. on 2/17/1859. They had
one son I know of for sure: Seth Thomas (who is buried there in Mt. Hope
w/ his wife Clara). The Gallagan name has been spelled Gallagher,
Galligan, Galigan, & Gallaghan. The correct spelling should be
Gallagan.Hannah is listed in the census records of 1900 as living in the
state hospital in Logansport. This would make sense. The family tale was
that she refused to live with her son Seth because he left the Catholic
church & with no where else to go (& no money) she ended up there.
I also found a George Gallangher listed in the family plot
@ Mt. Hope. Again, a gross mispelling of the name? And if related, would
be a twin to Seth?
Thanks again!
