Bill,
I would be happy to share information with you. I have been working on
my husband's family. His great-great grandfather William (1795-1870) --
Farmer, minister, circuit rider--- was of Scotch/Irish descent. He
married Malinda Clymer in Greene Co., OH in 1819. They had four
children; then Malinda died about 1824. He then married Elizabeth
Westfall in Miami County, OH in 1824. He and Elizabeth moved to Cass
County, IN in 1833 and settled on a farm in Noble Township. He was one
of the early settlers in Noble Township. In 1846 he built the first
steam sawmill one half mile south of Gebbert Station, on the farm later
owned by Levi Hart McKaig. (Source: "History of Cass County, Indiana"
1913, Lewis Publishing Co.)
What was your g-g-g-grandmother McKaig's first name (Was her maiden name
Clymer?) and which McKaig was she married to?
I have lots more data if you want it.
Maribeth McKaig
