The weather forecast for Saturday is clear! Anyone interested in joining
us at Sprinkle Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. for restoration work is
welcome. Suggested items to bring: gloves to protect your hands, a shovel
and wheelbarrow would be nice. Bring your own lunch and
beverages. Sprinkle Cemetery is in Cass Co. about 1 1/2 miles northwest of
Galveston at 1175 S on 800 E; Jackson Twp., Cass County, Indiana. There
is a map at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~incass/jcksnmap.html Sprinkle is #7.
We are also scheduled to work on Greenlawn Cemetery at Mexico next week on
Wed. June 13 at 6:30 p.m. I plan to be there by 4 and get started, so if
you want to come earlier, please do. This is a Miami Co. Genealogical
Society Mini cemetery restoration workshop. Visitors are welcome. There
will be a carry-in afterwards next door at Don & Sharon Linn's, so bring
food to share. Bring a shovel, some work gloves and dress to work. No
charge except the food to share.
Greenlawn Cemetery is north of Mexico, IN in Miami Co. If you can get to
Mexico... 31 north to 400N turn right (east) go to the main intersection
turn left or north. There is an old cemetery by a church... that's not
it. Continue north a little way and there will be another cemetery... a
big one. The section we are working in is in the back. The house north of
the cemetery is Sharon Linns and that is where the carry-in will be. There
is a fridge there if you are bringing anything that needs to be refrigerated.
For those of you interested in Bassett Cemetery (Howard Co), Bill Hall is
trying to put together a meeting. I will let you know when a date, time
and place is set.
