HELLO HELEN;
I worked for the Logansport State Hospital for 20 yrs. and as an employee of
the grounds dept. we mowed all the grass at the hospital and part of our weekly
chores was to mow the hospital cemetery. It is along the river behind a stone
wall just a little past the hospital river road entrance. But it was a
"paupers"
cemetery and I dought that any readable if any stones are left. That happened
long before I came on the scene. I worked there from 1960-1980 and there were no
persons buried there at all. I can't begin to tell you where to look for those
records. We did keep the cemetery mowed and looking nice and I'm sure they still
do. Believe me the apperance of the state hospital has drastically changed in the
past 20 yrs.
Sorry I can't be more help.

I have seen patients from the hospital in the census forms from Cass
County.
There was a long list of patients in the 1870 census. I drove by the
hospital or rather a second cousin drove us around the area last September.
There is a St. Johns cemetery in the Clymers area but it is very small and is
a family cemetery with tombstones mostly from the 19th century. I do not
think that it has anything to do with the hospital.
