There are two cemeteries located on the State Hospital Grounds. The one is called St.
Johns and the other one is just a small one. I have been told that most of the stones (on
the older cemetery ) were pushed over the edge of the Wabash River. Because the state
didn't want anyone to know who the patients were (privacy reasons I guess) However
there are still a few of the older stones standing. If you let me know names and dates I
would be willing to go out there and look for you.
Another place you might check with would be the Historical Society, as I have been told
that they have boxes of the state hospital records in their basement.

Hello, I am new to this list and need help. Does anyone know how I can get information on
a patient that was in Logansport State Hospital? I have been told that one or two of my
CROWEL family members were committed to that institution before they died and could
possibly be in the cemetery there. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Tammy
