I don't think there are any volunteers doing obit
lookups but you can contact the library and they can
get the obit for you.

If the government is not willing to accept the note
from the funeral director then chances are they are
may not accept the obit either. Often the info from
the obit came fromt he funeral director. His records
most likely really were lost in St. Louis. They had a
massive fire years ago and many records were lost. If
the American Legion is placing a flag on his grave
then they are probably the ones you should be
contacting to get proof of his service. Obviously they
have it or they wouldn't be putting a flag on his
grave. I'm sure they would be happy to help you if you
contacted them.
Good luck!

Subject: [INCASS] Help with Obituary
Please!!!!!
Can someone get me the obituary for my great uncle
HARRY CLEVELAND REESER
of 610 Bates St, Logansport b 6 Nov 1890 d 28 Oct
1936 in Logansport.
He is buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
I am trying to get his WWI records so he can have
his grave monument. His
obituary is my last hope. On the bottom of his
Funeral Record from R.G.
McCloskey's is a small part of his obit and it says
he was WWVeteran. If
I can a copy of his obit the Govt. may acknowledge
he deserves his
monument.
I have sent the Govt many filled out papers, 1930
Census where he says
he is a Veteran and the American Legion places a
flag on his grave each
year. Yet the Govt says his records were lost in St.
Louis. I don't think
they really care!
I don't know if an exact print of his obit can be
sent email. If someone
can get it I can send my address and pay for their
time at Library and
postage.
Thanks so much. Sallie Lou Morris Nelson San Benito
