Dear Marita,
I finally got onto this site and I thank you so much for it.
To think that we owned both copies of the Powell Book and sold them at
auction for $165. I only hope the woman, from Bunker Hill, Indians, who
bought it enjoys them enjoys them as much as I did. My husbands
grandfather, James A Nelson, bought them way back when they were printed.
And I knew Dean Arthington. He married our good friend, Jeannie Baker,
who played the accordion and was legally blind. I knew he kept obits but
didn't realize he had written books. Or, if Jeannie told me I have
forgotten.
I also know Barbara Scholl Wolf. She and her husband lived on north side
of High Street Road just before BroadRipple. She told me how to handle an
old Bible I had that was full of Gen. information. It belonged to my gr
aunt, by marriage. I wanted it to go to the family. She had me make
copies of all the Gen pages, then she notarized each set of pages. This
way I kept the original but could send the notarized copies to people. I
advertised in Genealogical Helper and did get many requests but non that
connected. I found a man in N. Little Rock who came the closest but not
firm. I finally sent the whole beautiful OLD Bible to a lady in Fort
Wayne who would either find the rightful owners or give it to the Library
there. I know she didn't find the family. So guess it is in the archives,
somewhere. I still have one set of copies.
I am going back onto the site and see if I can find anything about our
McConnaughhay Book that started this whole discussion. Thanks, Sallie
