Dear Linda,
Yes, I had been planning on having my tower redone inside so had been
working on putting everything on floppy. One big document I couldn't. I
had my Paf 4 and Ancestry on CD. My hard drive crashed except for 1
little speck. He put it on to a new hard drive and it took over 12 hours
it was so slow. He kept my address book-favorites and all. I was so glad.
I had copies of them on paper but so much easier. I am truly blessed to
have good repair people who know what they are doing. He also gave me a
new keyboard which is much better than my old one. They keys always
crunched and lots of time didn't register. Really bad when trying to do a
document. I do a lot of them.
He had built this for his wife who never turned it on. The CD Burner
didn't want to work right so he ordered a new on and will install it next
Tues along with Norton. So I won't get on the Web until Norton is on and
I am safe. And I won't open anything. This was sure a scary time. Odd, a
lady I email to, sent me an email while I was off saying HERS had crashed
and she would be off for awhile.
Sallie
