This is to suggest that you contact the Logansport newspaper per below, and
they may be able to pull the obit from their files (probably for a modest
fee).

My Great Grandfather, John C. Nelson, was a Circuit Court Judge in
Logansport from 1877 to 1881, and was elected Mayor for two years in 1887.
He undoubtedly knew Michael Morrissey as Chief of Police. I am just
beginning to research him, but since our family lost a lot of files in a
flood in the 1980s, I don't have either his obit, which was published in the
Pharos Tribune or his exact date of death. It would be great to uncover some
official photos, etc., perhaps including both Morrissey and JCN.
Regards,

Subject: [INCASS] Obituary sought on Michael Morrissey
A couple of years ago I sent away for death information on my Morrissey
family, recieved about 6, but did not receive any information on Michael
Morrissey. Now that I have his pension file, I know his date of death was
23 March 1924. Does anyone know how to go about getting an obituary? I am
assuming that one was published as his wife survived him along with a
sister-in-law, he was a Civil War Veteran, and he was Chief of Police in
Logansport in the 1880s.
Thanks for any help.
