If they had the funeral home name that did the service they have a lot
of info. I found out a lot by contacting the funeral home. Luckily it
was still in business

I found my great-grandfather listed on the Rootsweb Cass co. site under:
Galveston Area Deaths 1932 & 1933
Phillips, Frank 84 d. 25 Dec 1932, Walton, Cass, IN
I sent for his death cert. but the IN State Dept of Health couldn't find
a record of his death.
They even called Cass Co. to check with them. So, my question is, since
his death was
in the 'Galveston area,' he might have actually died in nearby Howard or
Miami co., but
wouldn't the record still be listed with the State Dept. of Health under
his name & death
date? Would the State Health Dept. find no record because it was
reported by another
county?
The death date is the same on his tombstone. I haven't been able to find
any reference
to his death in the Logansport newspapers.
What do I do now?
