Cass County is CURRENTLY part of the Lafayette Diocese. They have a website
at
http://www.dioceseoflafayette.org/
I would suggest that you contact the Diocese office to see if they info on a
Logansport church in 1859...

Subject: [INCASS] Roman Catholic Church information needed
9/29/2000
I have just received a copy of the marriage certificate for my g
grandparents: Patrick and Catharine MORRISSEY QUINLAN. It was issued on 17
October 1859 by Noah S. LaRose, Clerk. the certificate states that they
were married by Geo A. Hamilton, a Roman Cath Priest on the 17th day of
october, 1859.
Does anyone know what Catholic Churches there were in the area at that time?
does anyone know if there are additional records available -- those with
names of parents, witnesses, place of birth, etc.?
Does anyone know of Father George A. Hamilton?
Family lore states that the Morrissey family lived in Logansport, IN., but
the only other Morrissey marriages I could find on the data base (the WPA
transcriptions) were in the 1890s and, if related, are probably nephews.
I also know that in the 1860 census Patrick and Catharine Morrissey Quinlan
were living in Harrison Township, Pulaski county IN.
Thank you for your help.
