Lucy,
Why do you think they pick September to put flowers on the graves?. Was it
anniversary, birthdday etc. and did you notice any other flowers on nearby graves.
You might want to try this around September and Memorial Day. I actually did
this one time in Mt Hope cemetery there in Logansport. I live in Oklahoma, put the
sexton at Mt. Hope was kind enough to place them by the headstones.
I made up little calling cards on my computer, that include my name and snail
mail and email address. (The size of a business card). I mention I was a genealogist
in search for my ancestors, and gave a few surnames that I was searching on. And
would like to hear from them if they was related or now this family, please take
one.
. I had the cards laminated, so they would hold up during bad weather. I went to
my local florist and ask for some florist sticks the same ones that are used in your
arrangement flowers, to hold your card. (Since I was a regular customer the florist
just gave me some with no charge). I had the sticks place in the ground with a
couple cards on each stick, by my ancestors headstones. I luck out, I did get one
response from it. Lucy I would to hear from you again.

To everyone that helped me with locations a sincere thanks. I could
not find
the Indiana map I used last fall so had to use an antique atlas. Now if I
could only find out who put floweres on my Great Grandparents graves in Mt Hope
Cemetery. The flowers were on the graves last September. Their names were
George and Georgeanna Eikelberner and they died in 1885 and 1933. Again many
thanks,
Helen from Houston, Texas
