Two weeks ago Wednesday Mrs. Conrad was first stricken and although her condition was
critical at the time, she rallied and hope was held out for her recovery. Despite her age
and waning strength she continued to improve and Thursday was up and about the house.
Death resulted from a second heart attack early this morning.

now West Virginia. At the age of three years she came with her parents to Cass County,
Ind., where she grew to womanhood and was married in 1842 to John Q Conrad. Her maiden
name was Susanna Eurit. With her husband and family she came to Blackford County in 1894,
locating in Hartford City, where she lived until her death. She was left a widow a number
of years ago. Surviving are one son, Bruce Conrad, of Ohio, and a daughter, Miss Anna
Conrad, a teacher in the local high school; a brother Wesley Eurit, one sister, Mrs. W J
Bookwalter of macey, Ind. Two sisters are dead.
Mrs Conrad was a member of the Methodist church, having been converted to that faith in
childhood and remaining a devout worshiper all through lfe. She was a noble woman, and in
her death the city loses one of its oldest and mosr highly respected citizens.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 8:30 at the residence in charge of
Rev, B Earle Parker, pastor of Grace Methodist Church. The body will be taken to Twelve
Mile, Cass County for burial.
