Hello: I would surely love to have more information on Leonard
Smith and
Elizabeth Carter. My gr aunt ended up in Delphi, IN, Carroll County
according to my dad. If I could find her, which won't be easy since I
don't know her married name, I possibly could find my grandmother, Mary E.
Smith. I am sure the SMITHs were related and that is why my grandmother's
sister went to Carroll Co, IN. Mary E. Smith, grandmother, was in Greene
Co, TN, when she had her children including my dad. He was born in 1903.
His mother born 1873/1874. I know Leonard Smith left TN around 1850, but
I am thinking he left family members behind. I am related to the CARTER
family through dad's dad. please if you don't mind sharing a bit, I might
just hit on something that will connect for me. I have searched the
SMITHs of Greene Co and now am on Hawkins Co. I already did Washington
Co, TN, and ruled out the Mary there who would have been the right age in
1880. And have ruled out two Marys in Greene Co, TN, as well. I have a
booklet that was writtne by a man named Kirkpatrick that gives some info
on Leonard Smith. Linda
