To all? Carroll county researchers:
I have been and will be posting in months to come, hundreds of obituaries on the Carroll
co USGenWeb site, taken from the Hoosier Democrat newspaper. ? These obits start about
1880 and will go into the 1930's.?
?There are three LENON obits there now, and more than one CLINE as well as hundreds of
other surnames.? Starting about 1900 the obituaries have great genealogical detail,?
naming parents of the deceased, and all their children with married names of daughters.?
Frequently the year of? settlement in the county is noted.? These details? really help to
fit these families together.??? Some of the people died in neighboring counties: Cass,
Tippecanoe, Clinton, Miami, Howard, etc.
I started doing this? just for my own lines and a few collaterals, then decided I would?
do all the obits and share them with other researchers.
Make sure you check both the CC Gen web page and the "archives". I thought
everything ended up in the archives, but it's considered a "special
project". I have posted in both, but not always duplications.
The home page:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgw/
Click on Indiana at the left, then go to Carroll co.? All is searchable.? Please don't
E mail me directly or ask on the list if I have your grandfather's obit; use the
GenWeb site and keep checking it. ? It will probably take me until next spring to finish
this project.
