Thanks for the response.
By any chance do you know if there were other Philipy names in the 1880 Saluda Twp., Jefferson Co that had a Susan as the wife?
Minerva's older sister, Susan, also married a Philipy but the only name I have for him is "Sonny".

I am trying to locate any infromation on my ancestor, Pleasant Pruitt, who lived in Henry, Carroll, Cass and Howard County, Indiana.
Pleasant was married to (1) Cinderilla Skaggs and from this union was born a son, William Pruitt born on 2/18/1837.
Pleasant's second wife was Sarah Barnell whom he married in Wayne County, Indiana, on July 8, 1838. From this union were eight children: Isiah, Miles, John, Catherine, Elias, Josiah, Harrison, Joseph (my ancestor) and James Monroe.
We believe Pleasant was a tenant farmer since he has been located on several census records around the area of Cass, Carroll and Howard counties.
William Pruitt, Pleasant's son by his first marriage, was a Civil War veteran who served in the 24th Indiana Battery. He was an Auctioneer for 40 years in Carroll County, Indiana. He was married to Maria Timmons in 1861.
I am trying to locate the burial location of my ancestor ,Joseph Pruitt, Pleasant's son with Sarah Barnell his second wife. Any information would be very much appreciated on this family.

Earl,
Birth & death records for individual counties were began in Indiana in 1882. I think maybe that might vary from county to county as I have searched the year 1880 on the Indiana Birth Index and it hits on 46 names in various counties in Indiana.
State level registration for births was October 1907 & for death records January 1900.
Good luck in your search. Karen

The first names are right, and the dates close, but location is problematic. I'm not aware that they lived in the U.S. at all. I'll keep this on record just in case. Thanks.

I have very little information on William A. Ferrier but that he was born in 1862 in Carroll Co, In. His father was George E. Ferrier. There were two wives: Harriet Duncan and Rebecca Bennett. Does this match anything of yours? Thanks. Dorcas Beaver
