Jackpot!!!!,
I checked the Probate abstracts and found a Probate for Rebecca Clapper. It was filed on
August 16' 1899 in Brown County, Indiana. However, there was no will in the file, just
a mention of a will.
After looking through the court proceedings I noticed there was a small envelope marked
"vouchers filed with final report"-
Inside that envelope was a claim for a casket
"State of Illinois, County of Henry- Dr. Daniel McQueen being duly sworn disposes
and says that the annexed account is a just and correct claim against the estate of
Rebecca Clapper, deceased; that said claim is his property and there is justly due Theron,
after allowing all just credits, the sum of forty-five dollars.
Subscribed and sworn to before me this 11th day of January, 1899
Itemized claim
September, 5 --- one casket. $40.00
September, 5 --- use of hearse. $5.00 "
From this I would assume that Rebecca Clapper died in Henry County,
Illinois early in September, 1898
If you will send me your personal email address I will send you digital images of this
file.
