SUCCUMBS AT CITY HOSPITAL
Hemorrhage is Fatal to Mrs. Nannie Shively
Mrs. Nannie Mae Shively, 46 years of age, 710 West 8th Street, died at the
Bloomington Hospital at 7:45 PM Friday, a few hours after she had been
admitted. Death resulted from an internal hemorrhage.
Mrs. Shively underwent an operation last September and had failed to recover
from its effects. She was taken several days ago to the home of her sister,
Mrs. John Rush in Bedford, but was brought to her home here in an ambulance
last Saturday. Yesterday afternoon her condition suddenly became alarming
and she was rushed to the hospital at 4:30 PM.
Mrs. Shively was a native of Brown County and was the daughter of Isaac and
Louisa Jane (Elkins) Chandler. The mother is dead. The surviving relatives
of Mrs. Shively are the one son, Frank Shively of this city; the father,
Isaac Chandler; three sisters, Mrs. John Bush (sic) of Bedford, Mrs. Earl
Woods of Indianapolis and Miss Della Chandler of Scottsburg, and two
brothers, Howard Chandler of Elkinsville and Leonard Chandler of
Indianapolis.
The body lies in state at the Day Funeral Home and Funeral services will be
held there at 10 AM Monday. The services will be in charge of the Rev. R.
O. Pearson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery and pallbearers will be
Thomas Farr, Fred Hays, Lane Young, Raymond Sare, Frank Tyrrell and Gamel
Peterson.
