Try Monroe Co or Bartholomew Co. That was early for Brown Co marriages
and they may have lived closer to Bloomington or Columbus or maybe Franklin.

If you have an index to early Brown County IN marriages, please let
me know
if you see one for Thomas J. Crail and Mary Coy. Their marriage would have
occurred by 1838. The Illinois statewide index only lists Thomas' second
marriage to Catherine Lock in 1845.
Mary's name came from the death certificate for Hannah J. (Crail) Bishop.
Hannah was the sister to my ancestor Sarah Ann (Crail) Rouse.
Thanks.
