I have received word from Indiana State Rep. Markt Lytle's office that the
subject of CEMETERY PRESERVATION will be third on the agenda at the second
meeting of the Indiana General Assembly's Natural Resource Study meeting on
August 17 and 18, at the Brown County State Park in the Abe Martin Lodge.
The meeting starts at 1:00 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, August 17th, and
will last until 5:00 p.m. The meeting will resume at 9:00 a.m. on
Wednesday, August 18th.
I am advised by Rep. Lytle's Legislative Assistant that the floor will be
open for comments from the public on the subject of cemetery preservation at
the afternoon session on Tuesday, August 17th, and that this subject is
third on the agenda.
No word yet on sites for future meetings of the Committee.
I hope that you can attend this meeting or, at a minimum, forward your
comments to Rep. Lytle's office at H69(a)ai.org . Tell him, in your own
words, about your concerns with respect to Indiana's endangered pioneer
cemeteries. If you'd like to review the Indiana Pioneer Cemeteries
Restoration Project's "wishlist" for future legislation, you will find it
at:

Communicating with our Representatives and Senators about our feelings on
the subject of protecting Indiana's pioneer cemeteries is extremely
important.
Thank you.
