Don't you wish all your old family photos had been written on the back? My
cousin just loaned me a snapshot with the following written on it, possibly
by my grandmother Belle (Brummet) Zimmerman or one of her siblings:
John Prosser Jr.
Ida Prosser
Uncle Newton Prosser
Clema Giger
Aunt Sarah Pruitt & her granddaughter Frances Pruitt &
Grandfathers house
Taken July 4 1926.
John Prosser Jr is Newton Prosser's only son, and Ida (Yoder) is John's wife.
Uncle Newton (Robert Newton) Prosser (1841-1930) is the youngest son of John
Prosser (1797-1887), who came to Brown Co in 1836. They all lived on the
family farm (W1/2NE S31 T10N R3E), which is on the So. Fork of Beanblossom
Creek, just outside Beanblossom to the southeast. Clema Giger is Sarah
Clementine Brummet, b 1883 in Brown Co. She and Etta are daughters of John
Reese and Mary E. (Smith) Brummet.
Now my queries:
Who is "Aunt Sarah Pruitt?" I can't find a connection to the Prossers or
Brummets for her.
If Newt is "Uncle" and the house is "Grandfather's", then the
house must be
on the Prosser farm near Beanblossom. Does anyone know if this house may
still exist? Could you verify after seeing the photo whether it is this
house?
John & Ida had four children, I think. Does anyone know if their descendants
still live in the county? I'd like to contact them.
