Barbara,
Porter Hamblen gives your Bailey's first name as Cyrus.
Wilma's parents are given as Richard and Ursula (Brock) Satterthwaite.
Richard's father was Thomas and and he settled at South Bethany just a few
miles (SW) from Columbus, IN. There is more in the book.
John

Thank you for your reply. Glad to know the proper spelling of your surname.
I will correct it in my records. My sources were a tattered piece of paper
written in 1913 by my grandmother, Grace Gibbons Bailey, and a
less-than-perfect census microfilm!
I appreciate your sharing with me your relationship to Rev. Wm. Hamblen. I
just looked at the Hamblen information on the LDS site and found it quite
interesting. Though I noticed that they have 5 listings for John Mullins
Hamblen, same birth date and father, but 3 born in VA and 2 Brown Co., IN.
I would love to see a copy of the Hamblen and Allied Families that you
mentioned! I am about 150 miles from the University of Missouri at
Columbia,
so probably won't get the opportunity to access it there. Is this
a book or
manuscript that is available for sale? I would be very interested in
purchasing a copy if it is.
The prospect of learning anything about the family of my great grandmother
Wilma Satterthwaite is very enticing!
Thanks again.
Barbara
