Bob Moser
Thanks for the story about Washington Moser.
Washington Moser was in the 82nd Indiana Infantry Regiment, and was "Shot
by his comrade at Irwin, TN, May 1863." His widow Delilah received a
pension of $8 per month. No other Mosers are listed. This is from
Godspeed's "Counties of Morgan, Monroe and Brown, Indiana," published in
1884. Washington is also in a list of Brown Co. veterans in the 1990
Brown County Family History, published by Brown Co. Historical Society.
An asterisk indicates he was killed in action. No other Mosers listed.
That doesn't necessarily mean no other Mosers from Brown served in the
Civil War, however, as my g-gf. Benjamin R. Kelley is not listed in the
latter book, and I have his military records to prove that he was--also
in the 82nd regiment.
My Morrison grandparents lived on Brummetts Creek when I was a kid. Dick
Stevens farmed their farm. Another Stevens family lived nearby. I will
check cemetery for Stephens/Stevens.
Hope this helps
