Although publicity about the list is not yet posted, I think that it
is time to get the list started. I expect this list to be rather small
and to stay that way, so I think that we can run the list as if we were
chatting over the back fence. Once you get started doing Brown County
research you find that you are related to quite a few other Brown County
families
To start off let's send replies to the other list members so we can
all learn about relationships in this county.
By way of introduction I would like to say that although I am not a
native, my father was born in Brown county and some of his ancestors
bought land there back when it was Monroe County before Brown County was
established. Some of them also had the distinction of owning Weed Patch
Hill at one time.
I am the list owner and currently the President of the Brown County
Genealogical Society and started the list to foster genealogical
research of the people of the county. My Brown County families are
Adams, Sipes and Clevenger with an interest in the Wertz who were there.
