[95] ANGELINE BARNETT,4 (Sarah Hamblen,3 Job,2
George,1) born, May 13, 1830, in Bartholomew Co., Ind. Moved with
her mother to Job Hamblen homestead, same year and reared there.
Married Apr. 13, 1852, William Jackson Smith, b. Apr. 1, 1828,
in Upshur County, West Virginia, son of Elijah and Lucinda T.
(Walker) Smith.* They lived in various places in Hamblen Township,
Brown County. He was a farmer and timber worker. Voted Democrat.
Member of M.E. Church South.
She died November 13, 1869. He passed away, December 15, 1912.
Both buried Taggart Cemetery, Hamblen Township. He at the head
of (west) of his father's grave and she, Angeline, at his left.
Their children were:

Married there, Lucinda T. Walker, born, November 20, 07. They moved,
early, settling in Indiana, from Upshur County, West Virginia, to
Tippecanoe Coun-
ty, Indiana, where they lived among the Indians. He built a small water
power grist mill and operated it there.
About 1848, he moved with his family to Brown County, where he bought
a large farm on Big Salt Creek, Washington Township. He was one of the
prosperious farmers of the county. She died, July 17, 1874, and he, October
17, 1881. Both buried in Taggert Cemetery, Hamblen Township.
Their children were: William Jackson, (above): 2. Martha Susan, who
married first, Mordecai Weddle, (See note 91, page 155). They had one son,
Jackson. She married second, William Anderson, (See note 324, page 279).
3. Gordan, married Jane Brown; 4. James David; 5. Francis Marion; soldier
145th Regiment Ind. Vol. Infantry. Died Nashville, Tenn., March, 1865;
6. Robert, married Violet Brown, sister of Jane, (above). Both daughters
of Jesse Brown, early settler and prosperous farmer of Washington Twp.;
7. Edward Narrett, soldier 120th Reg. Ind. Infantry, died at Nashville, Tenn.,
May, 1864; Elizabeth Ann, married_______? Johnson; 9. Lucinda, married
her cousin, John H. Smith: 10 Elijah, b. 1851, married Sarah Crouch.
Went to Texas, 1900.
(4). James David Smith, born June 1, 1834, married Eliza Ann Summa,
born, May 11, 1836, died, Nov. 13, 1925, daughter of George and Jerusha Sum-
ma. They lived south side of Hamblen Township. Their children were:
Elizabeth Jane, born October 28, 1858; Edward Marion; 3. Elijah Monroe;
4. George; 5. Albert Ross; 6. Stanton David, b. 1868; 7. Wilbur Kioska;
8. Sarah Alice; 9. Charles Franklin; 10. Joshua, d. age 8; Eunice Ann, b.
March, 1878; 12, Wheeler, b. 1880.
