In my family's sacred trunk that I recently inheirited, I have discovered that I am
in possession of an origional civil war discharge paper for a James A. Weddle of Brown
county Indiana. Everything in this trunk is family history passed down over the last 200
years, although all the elders are gone and there is no one left to ask who he is to me.
I wonder if he's your James Addison Weddle? My paper says he was a private of
Captain William W. Brownings, co D, 82nd regiment of indiana infantry volunteers. also
says he was enrolled on the 15th day of august 1862 and was discharged the 18th day of
january 1863 for reasons of disability. Lists his occupation as Farmer.
Just wondering if this sounds at all like your guy
