We have an Eel Creek in Brown County in what was in Johnson Township, now
Washington Township near the Lawrence, Monroe and Brown County lines but
that would be quite a ways from Springville, Indiana. The cemeteries closes
to Eel Creek in Brown County would be the Deckard Cemetery, the Axsom
Cemetery (only known to have one grave that was later moved) and the
Terrill/Terrell Cemetery.

Hello, searching for Old Father Griffin Cemetery, Lawrence Co, near or at
Springville, Indiana. I found the name of the cemetery in an old letter
dated April 26, 1851 where Elizabeth Walker Howard (husband Jonathan) wrote
to her brothers in KY saying that "Our father has died (on the 23rd of
April) while walking in the lane. I buried him with mother in Old Father
Griffin Cemetery at the mouth of the Eel River. He died in peace".
Have you ever heard of this cemetery? its location? Thanks for any
info.

Thank you
