Hi Ann,
Thanks for your reply. I have the information about the DeBarcus, etc. but it doesn't
answer a couple of questions. First, it only goes from France to England and stops before
the emigration to America. Second, it speaks of the name changing to DeBarcus and Barcus
but never speaks of Barkhurst. I know that family members used Barcus and Barkhurst
within a family and that some changed their names back and forth through the years but I
have never came up with a reason why they would do so. I don't think that one can
write it off as a different spelling unless they are pronounced the same due to a strong
British accent. Any further information from anyone would be supremely appreciated.
