There are AYNES buried in DECKARD CEMETERY , Washington Township, Brown
County, Indiana. Originally in Johnson Township, since 1966 a part of
Washington Township, Brown County.
Recorded: April 6, 1972.
Location: Near western edge of Section 32; Township 8 North; Range 2 East.
Situated on a hill above Monroe Reservoir. Construction of the reservoir cut
off the old acess from the now-flooded Salt Creek Valley below. Now reached
from State Road 46 at Belmont by driving South on the Steele Road to Gilmore
Ridge Road. About 1-1/4 miles west on Gilmore Ridge Road a recently
developed road runs South for about 3 miles to the Cemetery. There are many
unmarked graves and some with uninscribed fieldstones.

6 miles on State Road 46 to Duncan Road, then 1/4 mile north to Cemetery and
church on east side of the road. One of Brown County's largest Cemeteries
with many unmarked graves.

Originally in Johnson Township, since 1966 a part of Van Buren Township,
Brown County.

Location: Northwest 1/4 of Section 36; Township 8 North; Range 2 East.
Cemetery is about 1 mile North of the community of Elkinsville which was
virtually abandoned after much of its land was acquired in the 1960's for the
Monroe Reservoir Flood Basin. Access is via the Elkinsville Road which
leaves State Road 135 at Story. The Cemetery, about 200 feet by 225 feet in
size, is well maintained but not fenced. There are many unmarked graves and
Initialled or uninscribed sandstone markers.

Location: Southwest corner of Section 15; and Northwest corner of Section
22; Township 8 North; Range 3 East.
Situated on hill on the East side of, and adjacent to, State Road 135, it is
2 miles Southwest of Stone Head and 2-1/4 miles Northeast of Story. One of
Van Buren Township's largest and oldest Cemeteries with many unmarked graves
and graves marked by fieldstones. A frame church, now abandoned (1976),
stands at the top of the hill with the Cemetery adjacent on the South and
West. The church bears the sign "Mt. Zion New Light Church - Since 1878" An
earlier log church burned.
