Wow, I've had so many nice replies to my query about the Annandale Estates
area. Isn't this strange? I wonder if perhaps there wasn't a area by that
name in Brown Co. back in the 1880's, as there is evidence that my
Grandmother was born there. Also we know her father was living in Brown Co.
at some time. His wife was from New Castle, so it's not unlikely that they
might have been down there.
Thanks everyone so much for all your correspondence, I'm disappointed of
course, but isn't that the way with genealogy, always a up or down, but in
time it usually works out.
Records for my Grandmother, Myrtle Rosalee Houchins, are hard to find as she
was put into a foster home when she was just a small child, about 4 years of
age, as her mother died shortly after child birth, as were her sister's and
brothers. There were 9 children in all, but she was the only one that the
foster parents changed residences, and moved out here to WA. All her
children thought she was adopted by her foster parents as she went by their
last name of McDonald. However I found in some very old records of her
foster father's Will, she was named as his foster daughter. This really
surprised everyone, so since then I've been looking for further records for
her, but all I come up with is she was born in IN according to the 1880 MN
census. Evidently they moved from IN to MN during her first year.
Thanks again. Hope to visit that beautiful area in the future.
