Last Will of George W Dotson, dec'd
I, George W Dotson, of the County of Brown and State of Indiana, in view
of the uncertainties of life, hereby make and publish this my last will
and testament.
1st I direct that out of the first monies that shall come into the hands
of my executor, all my Just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid.
2d I direct that out of my estate my executor purchase and cause to be
put up a sett of tomb stones at the grave of my deceased brother Henry
Dotson, and, also, a sett of tomb stones at my own grave;
3d The rest of my property, real and personal, to be equally divided between
my half-brother James Williamson, my sister Dorcas Ayres, my niece Elizabeth
Peters, and my nephew George W. Dotson, if they shall survive me, and if
any if either be dead, at my decease, then to the heirs, if any that are
dead, in this item mentioned.
4th I hereby appoint James Williamson, my half-brother, my executor to
carry out the objects of this will, without bond, and I hereby direct him
to pay out each bequest herein contained without letters of Testament,
or administration, hereby enpowering him to collect all my debts, in his
own name, receive and receipt for the same in his own name, to sell and
convey, in his own name, by proper conveyances, at private sale all and
any of my said property, and to make division of my said property to the
parties herein mentioned according to the provisions of this will.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand after this will had been
read to me, and I have heard and understood the contents hereof, in the
presence of the Witnesses Whose names are hereto attached.

The State of Indiana, Brown County, ss:
Be it Remembered, That on the 19th day of October in the Year 1872, Hiram
Hurley & John Noblet two of the subscribing witnesses to the within and
foregoing last Will and testament of George W Dotson late of said County,
deceased, personally appeared before William L. Cox, Clerk of the Court
of Common Pleas of Brown County, in the State of Indiana, and being duly
sworn by the Clerk of said Court, upon their oaths declared and testified
as follows, that is to say; that on the Seventeenth day of February, AD.
1872 they saw the said George W Dotson sign his name to said instrument
in writing as and for his last Will and testament, and that these deponents
at the same time heard the said George W Dotson declare the said instrument
in writing to be his last will and testament and that the said instrument
in writing was at the same time at the request of the said George W Dotson
and with his consent attested and subscribed by the said John Noblet and
Hiram Hurley....
