The records in Brown County are on about the same paar as those in the
rest of the state. In fact in Brown County we are VERY fortunate to
have records prior to 1873 when the court house burned. Many of the
records were saved, but the land records were almost totally lost.

On marriage lookups, Indiana didn't start keeping detailed marriage
records
until 1882 so records did not have complete information before
that year. Another thing is that Brown County was farther behind the
times than the rest of the state. Their record keeping was even
worse. About the only thing I can do is look up marriage dates. I
can do those for you, I'll see what I can find.
