I would like to encourage all Lawson males to join the other Lawson's in having their DNA tested. Ladies, we have to rely on brothers, fathers, uncles or cousins to test for us. One of Gabriel Lawson's gr grandson's has tested for Amos line. We have 12 exact matches of 25 markers. We really need someone from William and Sabra's line to test, but it would be nice if others also test. I think William Lawson was an older son of Amos and Rebecca Aynes Lawson. If you contact me at Mary2gard(a)aol.com I will send you an invitation to the test site. As a group, we get a lower price, $99 for 12 markers, and $169 for 25. The test is 2 swabs of the inside of the mouth. Over 36 Lawson males have tested at FamilyTreeDNA.com. Mary
I would not go here if I were any one of you! I ran that site through the

Mary BELCHER (BELSHA) was 86-years-old in the 1850 census for Perry Twp., Monroe Co., IN. She is not listed in any Monroe Co. cemetery records. In case she might have been buried in Brown Co., I would appreciate cemetery lookups for Brown Co. for her. Thanks.

Correction - Reunion will be on Saturday, June 5, 2004.
Here is an email about the closing of the Vital Records of West
Virginia.
These are public documents and should remain avilable to the public.
S. Clevenger
Last Saturday, March 13, in the WV Legislature,House Bill 4330
passed. It is
now awaiting signature from Governor Wise to make it law. If you are
a family
genealogist/historian whose research involves West Virginia, then
this bill
affects your work whether you live in West Virginia or another state.
If
Governor Wise signs HB 4330, all birth records will be closed to
public access for
100 years and all death records closed for 50 years. We are all
concerned about
privacy issues but HB 4330 in its current format is too restrictive.
Please email Governor Wise and address your concerns. Don't delay.
The governor's email address is Governor(a)WVGOV.org
If you would like to examine HB 4330 then cut and paste the URL
below.

Subject: [KYCLINTO] Kentucky Vital Records Alert URGENT!
Here is an email about closing Kentucky Vital Records.
Do what you can to keep them open. The records are gathered at tax
payers expense
and should be open to the public
S. Clevenger
The Kentucky Legislature is getting ready to drastically limit
access to Kentucky vital records including BIRTHS, DEATHS,
MARRIAGES, and DIVORCE.
(MILITARY RECORDS are also being limited but I do not know
which bill is involved.)
You can find the entire bill at:
http://www.lrc.state.ky.us/record/04rs/HB100/SCS1.doc
Death certificates will still be public record after 50 years but
more recent death certificates will only be available to:
1. the decedent's widow or widower,
2. child eighteen (18) years of age or older
3. parent
4. grandparent
5. sibling eighteen (18) years of age or older
6. funeral director handling the decedent's funeral arrangements
7. personal representative of the decedent's estate
8. a named beneficiary of an insurance policy of the decedent
9. a person with a claim against the decedent's estate
This means that genealogists can no longer order great-uncle Jasper's
death certificate to see his parents' names.
Birth records will be have limited access while the person is living
but
will still be public record after 100 years. Divorce and marriage
records
will be closed for 70 years.
We are very late in the process.

I am a descendant of Martin and Catherine, with much research on the both families. Martin and Catherine did indeed wind up in Brown County, both passing away there in 1895 and 1889, respectively. Please contact me by e-mail and we'll make arrangements to swap information. Looking forward to hearing from you.
By the way, what is George's relationship to Martin?
