This is my GG?grandmother. I have that she married Cyrus Hulet in NW Missouri. Cyrus and Delila bore Elizabeth Ann (or May) Hulet, who married John Rice Newman. I have lost the path before this. (app. 1895), I only having mention of Delila in a 'pride book', (a publishing that is mainly to get an authors' name on a list for companies to look at.), of the Newman line.
I am completely lost as I have the feeling I may be having to go to Native American databases soon,....most women in photos reproductions in Newman book look Indian....any help would be appreciated.

My family also moved at the same time from Belmont to Brown. Could they have traveled together. Found them in the 1860 census. My family moved on to Platte County MO. Could this help you?

Eleanor D. Huff:
-Born 1820-21, Indiana
-Married Woodard Sutherland 6/29/1841 (Shelby, Ind.)
I would appreciate if someone would check early 1800 marriage records to see if Huff was Eleanor's maiden name or was a previous husband's name.
Note: Catharine Ripple, age 60, b.NC, appears in the 1850 census with the Sutherland's. Ripple also traveled with them to MO and one of the Sutherland children received her surname as a middle name. There has to be a connection.
Does this mean that either Eleanor Huff's, or Woodard Sutherland's, mother remarried - or, does it mean that Eleanor Huff, herself, had a previous marriage?
The only other possibility that comes to mind is that Ripple could have been an aunt or grandmother (40 year age difference between her and both Eleanor/Woodard).
Thank you very much! -Kay, FL

I'd be happy to check for you. One has to be careful with the Brown's in the southwest corner of Brown County. There were two Thomas Andrew Brown families, some of their children had the same names, and there is a mix of them in several of the cemeteries.
