Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Recently I discovered that the Indiana State Library had revised its
website and the link from the web page of the Brown County
Genealogical Society no longer worked. It has now been corrected.
For those new to the list you may find some useful information on the
web page.

Tammy, you did some look-ups for me over a yr. ago. At Burkhart Cemetery, you found a C.Jane Hendershot. I didn't think it was my gggrandmother, but since then, I do. Found she used many middle names, and Jane was one. Hope you won't mind getting me the dates on her.....I do appreciate your kindness. Thank you, Judy Garner

I am a direct descendant of the William Curry that lived and died in Brown County, Indiana. He was married to Nancy Wallen who was the widow of Elias Weddle. I hate to bust the ballons, but I have done extensive research on the Curry family, and found that Charity Curry, is not the daughter of the William Curry that lived and died in Brown County. Give me you E-mail address and I will send you the research that I have done on the Curry Family. The file is in pdf format, so you will need Acrobat reader. My E-mail is F9510(a)prodigy.com

Please, I’m in need of a marriage certificate lookup. The marriage was between Daniel McQueen & Ann Park. They were married in Brown County, Indiana on April 13, 1862. The certificate can be found in Book 3, Part 1, Page 111 of the Marriage Records 1853 – 1901.
Any tidbit is appreciated and May God Bless.

Hi. Some of what you mentioned connects with my great grandmothers family. Her name was Addie Jane Hutchison. She was born 29 Sept 1871 in Nashville, Brown County, Indiana. Her marriage license (Logansport, Cass County, Indiana 15 Feb 1888) indicates her father is William S. Hutchison. Her death record from Cass County indicated that her father was William Hutchison and her mother was Mahala Hicks. I think the "Hicks" is wrong. I believe the family in Henry County, New Castle, Indiana in the 1880 census is my great grandmother's family. Anything you can tell me will help with my search of my Hutchison ancestors. Thanks.

I am sorry, but only saw your question today. Mahala Followell was the sister to my gg-grandfather Meridith. There were 7 kids in this family plus the mom and dad and all of their names started with a "M". I have been working on the Followell family for over 30 years. On the Family Tree Maker user home pages look for "The descendants of John Followell" and you will find a lot of info. I have found the family name spelled 10 different ways, but my granny who was born in 1875 liked to spell it Followwell.
I am seeking info on the family of G.B. or G.M. Richards and wife Pernetta.
IN 1860 they had three sons living in their household whose names were
William A., Levi P. and Manuel W. They lived in the township of Jackson,
Brown Co., IN.
In 1880 they still lived in Brown Co. and had a larger family at that time.
Still in Jackson, Brown Co., IN in 1880.
G. M. RICHARDS Self M Male W 45 IN Farmer TN TN
Pernetta RICHARDS Wife M Female W 47 IN Keeping House TN
Nancy J. RICHARDS Dau S Female W 18 IN At Home IN IN
Joshua RICHARDS Son S Male W 16 IN Works On Farm IN IN
Martha A. RICHARDS Dau S Female W 14 IN At Home IN IN
Angeline RICHARDS Dau S Female W 6 IN IN IN
I think that Manuel W., born about 1859 to G.R. or G.M. Richards and
Pernetta is the same person as M.W. Richards who married Ella Honchen in
1879 in Bartholomew County IN and who was on the 1880 Census of Johnson Co.
Can anyone give me info on this family?
Thanks!
