Please can someone lookup cemetary tombstone information for Harrison L. Lucas-died 24 Dec.1891 in Brown County. Barbara, wife, died Brown County, 8 March 1882-- trying to find her parents names and where they are buried in Brown County. They arrived in Brown Co. 1856 from Belmont Co., Ohio. Believe Rhoda Whetzell Hardin (second wife of John Hardin) is Barbara's sister.

My great grandfather's name was Harry Mason, born June 1882 in Columbus, IN (I'm told). His father's name was William Mason. I can only estimate that William's date of birth was in the 1850-1860 range. William's wife was Emma Shumway. I wonder if it's possible your William Mason (the younger) could be a relative to my greatgrandfather Harry. If so, please post reply. Thanks.

Genealogy - ROBERTSON—My genealogy traces back to
Joseph Rainey Robertson, b. Scotland,1760-1780 d. 1833 Near Frankfort, KY
(This is all we have on him) He is my ggg grandfather -
married to: Susannah Johnson, b. 1760-1780 m. 11-24-1795 in Madison CO., KY.
They had 8 known children:
1. Elizabeth, b. 1790-1810,
2. *JOHNSON ROBERTSON, b. 1790-1810 in Madison or Bourbon Co. KY
d. 02-19-1864 in Liberty, Clay Co. MO, m. **Polly A. Langston d. 03-16-1829 in Bourbon Co. KY
Male descendants down to me: gggf., Johnson, ggf., Allan, gf., Harry ,
f., Raymond C. Robertson, myself, John William Robertson
3. ***Mahala, b. 01-02-1816 m. Henry Livingston in Bourbon Co. KY4. Mark, b. 1790-1810
5. Mary Ann, b. 1820 in KY, m. James R. Johnson 1839 in Versailles, Riply Co. IN

8. William b. 1803, (Madison Co. KY ??)
* Johnson Robertson is the one my line descends from.
** Polly’s parents are possibly: (We have no confirmation on these )
Father; Abraham Langston b. 1779 in Scotland?
Mother, Isabella Clark b. 1778, Paris, Bourbon Co. KY?
I think Polly A. had a sister named Mary Ann
I am beginning to believe that Joseph may have returned to Scotland periodically, and it is possible that Susannah Johnson may also have come from Scotland
*** I am also beginning to wonder if Susannah might be of Cherokee Indian descent, as the Johnson name is found among the Cherokee, and Mahala was a popular name for girls among the Cherokee, AND, Joseph and Susannah named one of their daughters Mahala! I find that the Scots often married among the Native American lines.
I have not been able to find anything on Susannah, either.
Any help or information will be greatly appreciated, and I share what I have on the family.

Does anyone have a copy of Isaac Fleetwood's pension file? I'm trying to find a deposition given for him by Polly Brown (formerly Porter), Jesse Brown's wife. I've found several references to the opinion that the Fleetwood's, Brown's, Porter's, and a couple of other families came to the Jackson & Lawrence County area and then to Brown County via Floyd County, Kentucky in the 1820's.

Hello I am looking for any information for Rosanna/Rosannah Hankins. She is my GGGreat-grandmother.
Rosannah Hankins was born circa 1816.
She was married by a Justice of the Peace, January 1834 in Johnson County, Indiana to George McKinney.
She was enumerated in the 1850 Brown County, Indiana Federal Census with
George McKinney is listed as head of household. He was 39 and born in Ohio.
Rosannah was 34 and born in Kentucky.
There were 3 children listed,
Hezekiah McKinney was 13 and born in Indiana
Mary C. McKinney was 2 and born in Indiana
Patterson C.P. McKinney was 1/12 and born in Indiana.
This is the only time she is mentioned by name in any census.
She may have been enumerated in the 1840 Johnson county census, But there were two George McKinneys Johnson county in 1840 She could have been with either one.
Rosannah was not listed in the 1860 Brown County Indiana census.
I have not found her in any cemetery list in Brown County Indiana or surrounding counties.
In the 1880 Census, of Brown County Indiana, Patterson has his mother born in Virginia.
This sums up all the data I have so far.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff Young

Lynn - If you go to the Brown Co Historical Society Building they have a thorough index of court cases and the documents pertaining to each case. I'm not sure how late those date, but I believe I found some there in the 1900's. Check with the library in Nashville IN about the society's open hours, or contact the Historical Society directly (their info is on the Brown Co web page.

I would be VERY interested in your info if you could share. I'm new at this, know my Great Great Grandfather was Levi Shipley, married Sarah Bell Roberts in Nashville IN on 8/8/1890. My aunt gave me his birthday date as Sept 22, 1867, but I've found on some family trees that it is Sept 10, 1868. His wife's name has been listed as Isabell.
I have names of his 13 kids.
Any clarification on his birth date or if his parents are Isaac & Polly would be GREATLY Appreciated!!!
THANKS!
Lori
have the part of the book about the Shipley decendants of Isaac and Polly. I am the granddaughter of Florence Lee she is the sister to Pat. I have a family tree on ancestory.com under Cave. I am in the process of getting all of the "kids" and grandkids and greatgrandkids of Isaac and Polly on this tree but all these ancestors seem to have had a dozen kids by half a dozen wives that it is taking me a while. Any info you need just send me an email.
