Seeking information on great great grandmparents, Abraham Brown and Rebecca Runyon. Abraham might have been born in Ohio in the mid 1840s and Rebecca was born in 1851 in Indiana. They had two children that we know of: Lydia Matilda (b 1876) and Sarah Jane (b 1877). Abraham and Rebecca were married in 1875 in Adams County, Indiana.
Parents of Rebecca are believed to be Sarah Hilton and Daniel Runyon. She might have had a brother by the name of Ambrose (b abt 1847) and a sister by the name of Mary Elizabeth (b abt 1845).
Parents of Abraham are believed to be John (b maybe in PA) and Elizabeth (b maybe in Ohio)
Any information appreciated.

I'm interested in this family, too. I have no descendants indicated, but
the bride was Rachel Savannah Tomey (various spellings of surname). Her
mother was Mary Lockridge, sister of Savannah Lockridge. I am descended
from their brother James Allen Lockridge.
Do you know of any descendants of William & Rachel Savannah McCoy?

Nyla, thanks for getting in touch with me. I'm meeting myself coming and going this weekend, but will answer you directly first part of the week. Peggy
For those new to the roots web and those of you veterans I would like to
say that there are many folks who subscribe that are willing to do what
they can to help others in their research.
I, myself do Volunteer research at Andersonville Civil War Prison in
Andersonville Georgia. There are Any research I do is absolutely at NO cost
and I am willing to do what I can. There are 1743 prisoners of war on record
from the state of Indiana and about 700 who died here, I thought I would
send my offer. I also do the research for any prisoners from any state that
were here.
Here are my sources of research.
There are 2 online databases to do lookups.....One by name...one by Company
and Regiment. I also have a copy of the Dorence Atwater Death list
which has the names and grave numbers of 12960 graves with only 460 marked
as " UNKNOWN " This along with a CD I have which contains 34,000 names of
the 45,000 who
were imprisoned there which helps me find prisoner records because of
mispellings of the names or alternate names. I visit the prison site every
couple of weeks and have access to the onsite databases as well as the
physical files. Please do not concider this spam as my research offer is
FREE for the asking and will be posted on this county site only once.
If there is anything I can do in helping your research at Andersonville,
please just ask.

I too am a descendant of Alexander Ptomey. He is my g-g-g-grandfather. Alexander was father to Moses who had son Zachariah who is my g-grandfather. Zachariah had William Henry Isaac Ptomey who had my father Donald Ptomey. Our family moved from VA to Ohio to Illinois to California. I was born in CA then my family moved to OK where I grew up. I'd be interested in sharing more info and knowing how you are related to Alexander. My new email is nylaptomey(a)yahoo.com
