Ronald, I'm looking for information on a Samuel R. Patterson. b Sept 16, 1816 in Vermont, lived in Ohio, I believe and then on to Indiana. He was a young unmarried man at that time, went on to Randolph Cnty, IN and then to Delaware County, IN where he married Jane Turner in 1839. I'm looking for his parents and wondered if any of your family might be connected since I have Samuels and Elizas, etc in my Patterson line also. ANY help would be appreciated.
Thank you - Shirley in OH

Message Board Post:
Hello Everyone~
Someone helped me uncover a family secret~ My gg/grandmother Laura B. Richards ~ Lukens b. August 1865 in Indiana, was previously married to George Richards, he was born about 1859 in Indiana his parents were born; Father Tennesse, mother Kentucky.
By about 1886 My gg/ grandmother was married to David Way Lukens~ David and Laura had 6 children and was in St. Louis, Mo by 1900
My question is: What happened to George Richards.
Laura was only 15 years old when she was located on the 1880 census as being George's wife.
I was wondering if George had died, or if there was a divorce.
Thanks!
Tina Evans
Hello to the lists:
Has anyone had reason to question the reliability of the IGI index of
the LDS site? I recently have received information quoting that as the
source of some data for which I have been looking for years.
Hypothetical situation: If I place some doubtful data in my Family Tree
records and, at some later date, this information finds its way to the LDS,
do they then place it in their records as fact? And is it then fed out to
other researchers as such?

Has anyone acquired the "complete list of all Virginia residents in 1624,"
touted at the above URL? I'm wondering about its authenticity or veracity.

You have a treat waiting for you. The wonderful new library building is
just a year old and the genealogy collection now has over 800 units in it.
Check the web site of the library for days and times:
http://www.browncounty.lib.in.us
The genealogy section is up front near the checkout desk and the copier.
The holdings of the library are not yet online, but hopefully soon will be.
One of the unique collections is a full set of the Family Studies done by
the Reeves. For a listing of the books, check the web site of the Brown
County Genealogical Society.
