I saw a few cases that I had the answer for and helped them.Soon there was
more.I have been in this for over twenty years and can send you a copy of a
letter asking for help in this field dated June 1980.I have files of data
put out by the Later Day Saints,Luthern and other churches. All data I put
out is documented.I didn't know about the troubles down there at that time.I
know what it is like searching and some one comes in with a little info.In
one day three times after I had helped all I could it was followed by.I have
more than he does.At first I thought good. Then it dawn on me that I was
being shot down just because I was helping.I was told information was put
out very often. It's been some time since I saw any and it was wrong.I want
nothing.I just like to help people.Get off my back. All this for helping a
little and very few even writes back. Lewis

You have hit a major relative branch now.
The Elihu Reeves you refer to is the father of my husbands grand mother,'
Rose Elizabeth Annis Reeves Roberts' . Granny Roberts was the daughter of
Elihu and his first wife. Thus, Elihu is my husbands great grand father.
Do you know anything about Elihu's first wife?

I haven't really noticed what has been responded to your message but in the
Census index for 1850 "Nelson Rogers age 46 VA" and in 1860 "Nelson Rogers age 60
VA". This is probably the same person - just some illiterate was taking the
census or someone didn't know when they were born!

David,
Have you looked at the Soundex for Indiana for 1880 and 1900?
You might pick up a trail for Monroe there.

Dave,
Cooper was a little town between Belmont and Youno in Brown County, IN
it is my guess it was near the present location of DeWar Ridge and the
present Deckard Ridge Road runs near by where the town might have been. They
had a post office (speaking of post office, our speaker this month at the
Brown County Genealogical Society will be talking about old Brown County
post offices)
Cooper was in Johnson township, now part of Washington township. Hope
that helps some.

Diane:
While the list I am about to give you is a list of people who do
volunteer photo taking in cemeteries all over the world, it is very
possible that someone on the list may very well know about what you
are asking.

Jeanette,
Thanks for your reply. I have always wondered where Cooper was. That is
the right area for the SINN & PARKS families. George & Carloine lived where
part of the T C STEELE Memorial is until the sold it to Mr. STEELE.
Thanks again,
Dave Foster
