I am very interested in discussing these families with you. I spent quite a bit of time
last year sorting out these folks. My connection is through the CARR family, but not sure
if it's the same as your CARR. I am very interested to see if there is a connection.
Phebe Ann CARR m. William S. SILVERS, had children and was widowed by the 1856 census.
She married John GILLASPY whose first wife was Sarah Anne CARR, daughter of Jonathan J.
and Martha CARR. Sarah A. CARR and John GILLASPY married 23 Nov 1837 in Morgan Co., IN.
Sarah died about 1859, prob. in Marion Co., Iowa.
John Gillaspy and Phebe Carr Silvers were enumerated in the 1860 census of Marion Co.,
Iowa; by 1870 they were living in Lamar, Barton Co., Missouri. I found them in the same
location in the 1880 census. I do not have death dates for either John or Phebe, but
think they died in Missouri.
Thomas SILVERS, brother to William Smith SILVERS, married (second marriage) to Elizabeth
KING 14 Nov 1850 in Davis Co., Iowa. Elizabeth's sister, Sarah King, married Jonathan
Green CARR in Davis Co., Iowa in 1850. I've found SILVERS folks in close proximity to
my CARR family in Davis and Decatur counties in Iowa.
Jonathan Green CARR, grandson of Jonathan J. and Martha CARR, was my g-grandfather. I
know that Jonathan J. and Martha CARR were in Kentucky for the birth of their first 5
children (abt 1800-1809), then to Indiana (Jackson, Clark and Morgan counties) then to
Davis Co., Iowa where he died about 1845.
I'm not sure if there is a connection between the two CARR families or just
coincidence.
