Marilyn, I agree that this record is intriging! Talbort (tal) and Celina are certainly
not real common names. There are several records that are correct as to the time frame
but the info cannot be verified by anything! It is like this family does not want to be
found! Your thought is a good one but .....
You have no idea how many days I have spent trying to trace my paternal grandmother! I
feel like I am chasing my tail....I have re-traced my tracks so many times and I simply
cannot verify satisfactorily any data re Malinda Jane Phipps. I have found several
records that leave tantalizing clues but no verification.
For some reason, I have a belief that possibly Malinda Jane Phipps was born in Indiana,
but right now I can't say why I think that.
I am certain about her death certificate tho' which list her dying in Knox County KY
on 23 Jul 1914. And, I believe that their marriage date is correct as 3 Jan 1889. Beyond
that I have no substantial proof. I have even gone to Knox County KY and try to verify
records.
This loss of family info is a result of my father, Walter Coy Campbell, dying when I was
about 6. Then, my mother remarried and we moved from Knox County Ky to Indiana. Then, my
Mom's house burned, along with all family pixs. Add to that - BOTH paternal and
maternal grandparents died before I was ever born! I am very fortunate to have gleaned a
pic of Malinda Jane Phipps and Ulysis Byron Campbell from a distant cousin.
I had a few hours tonight to devote to this search tonight so I am at it again! One of
these days I an going to get some straight answers! Patti Ann
