Janice, Here is what I found on 1860 census in CLINTON TWP;
pg 807 Reason A. McDANIEL 38 born KY
Susan McDaniel 28 born IN
Wm. T. McDaniel age 6
CATHERINE MCDANIEL age 68 born KY
pg 821 CLINTON TWP.
Esquire McDONALD age 34 born KY
Elizabeth 25 born IN
Children James B., John E. & Verlina J.
Catherine MCDONALD age 68 born PA
Reason McDonald died Sept. 1900 at his home in Clinton Twp., buried at Mud
Creek Cem., Clinton Twp.
Squire is buried there also.
It may just be coincidence that Reason is listed as McDaniel here and
McDonald on other census records, and that both he and Squire have a 68 year
old Catherine in their household. Anyway, this isn't much help with your
William A. Marilyn

Hi,
I have been searching for the parents of my great grandfather William A.
McDonald for the last seven years. Records in Boone County including
census state that he was born in Ohio. He married my greatgrandmother,
Polly Jane Smiley in 1853 and lived the rest of his life in and around
Whitestown and Marion Twp. He is buried in Mts. Run Cemetery.
Is anyone out there researching this family? I am at a brick wall. But
I did uncover something interesting the other day on the 1850 Boone
County census. I found a Hatherine McDonald, born Tenn. age 57 living
in Boone County with Squire McDonald, age 24, Mariah, age 22, James R.
age2, Regan A. age 26. Anyone know anything about this family?
Now my William A. McDonald states on a marriage application that his
mother's maiden name was Catherine Miller, born in Tenn. I wonder if it
is possible that Hatherine could be a misspelling for Catherine---the
age would be right and so would the birthplace.
Anyone know anything about Hatherine McDonald? I believe the family was
living in either Clinton or Marion Twp.
Thank You,
Janice Shives
