Saw your query on the Boone CO, Indiana page...then went to your
website.......I'm not related to either families, but have done some
research for others on these families. I had a very dear friend who was
a direct line with Ignatious Davis....he has since passed away.
I have information for you on Ignatious.........Ignatious Davis was mrd
to Catherine Bromigan 22 April 1830 in Bath CO, KY..........he was born
6 Oct 1807 Bath CO, died 6 Oct 1868 Jefferson Twp, Boone CO, Indiana, he
was the son of Luke and Mary Brown Davis, Catherine was born 30 Jun 1808
KY, died 15 Jan 1878 Jefferson Twp, Boone CO, Indiana. she was the
daughter of Thomas Bromigan. Ignatious and Catherine had 10 children;
Thomas, who mrd Elizabeth C. Kincade, Mary who mrd John Kincaid, Luke
Clarence who mrd Anna Maria Stewart, David Crockett who mrd Lydia
(Lizzie) Landio, Elnora (Elanor) , Margaret, Malinda J, who mrd William
Eli, Caroline who mrd Ammon Heady, Nancy who mrd John Shotts.
I have lots of Boone CO, Indiana materials, as I used to live there
until about a year ago......I have published several books on Boone, and
have done lots of research for others there........I have more info on
some of these families......but not sure what you are looking
for........

I have some new info for you.........I was checking your pages
again............found some info on Emma Craig.........I have a roll of
microfilm that has various obits on it.....from someone's scrap book of
sorts......I made an index to it....there are only 4 rolls of this film
around.......thorntown and Lebanon libraries..........historical society
and me........
ANYWAY......there is Emma's obit..........she and William had 9
kids...........Effie, who mrd an Eaton died 27 Nov 1920, Mrs. Elvin
Creamer, Elwood, Ind., C.C. Madison, Aurora Indiana, Byrda Newman, Gary,
Indiana, Rossie Eaton, Summittville, Indiana, Glen, Gary, Indiana,
Jessie Ruth Bennett, Greenfield In., A.R Madison at home and Josie B, at
home.......
Emma's parents were Samuel and Charity Grater Craig, she mrd William
Madison 29 Nov 1884.......
Noticed on your webpage you had the name DYE also......were they from
Boone Also??

Here's the obit.......I have no idea what newspaper it came from......as
I said it was someone's scrapbook.....They collected odds and ends of
items and pasted them in this book which in turn was microfilmed.
EMMA MADISON
Funeral Services for Beloved Woman Saturday at Shannondale
dated 17 Jan 1930
Mrs. Emma Madison, 74, one of the beloved pioneers of this community,
passed away at her home in Thorntown, Thursday morning at 4 o'clock.
The funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 am at the
Shannondale Church, Rev. Cox, a former pastor, being in charge .
Internment will be at the Shannondale cemetery.
Emma Jane Craig was the daughter of Samuel and Charity Grater Craig and
was born in Crawfordsville 19 November 1854. At an early age she removed
to Rensselaer where she grew to young womanhood. On November 29, 1884
she was united in marriage to William R. Madison of Clinton CO, Indiana,
who preceded her in death 5 July 1925.
To this union were born nine children, all of whom are living with the
exception of a daughter, Mrs. Effie Eaton, who died 27 November 1920.
The children surviving are, Mrs. Elvin Creamer, Elwood, In; C.C. Madison
of Aurora, In; Mrs. Byrda Newman of Gary, In; Mrs. Rossie Eaton of
Summitville, In; Glen Madison of Gary, In; Mrs. Jessie Ruth Bennett of
Greenfield, In; and A.R. Madison, and Miss. Josie B. Madison at home.
Mrs. Madison was widely known in this community and was held in highest
esteem by all who knew her. Her passing removes another of the sturdy
pioneers who did so much in the upbuilding of this community.
