Karen,
I can tell you exactly where these places you mentioned are located. I lived in Boone
County, IN for most of my life.
Traders Point is located on U. S. 52 at the very southeastern edge of Boone County.
Actually it is not in Boone County but
in Marion County but close to Boone. If you look on a map, find Lebanon and then follow
U. S. 52 southeast toward
Indianapolis and you will find it just southeast of Ind. 334.
It was a very small community when I left there 20 years ago and getting smaller as I-65
took much of the traffic away from
it.
Mt. Run Baptist Church and Cemetery are located about 8 miles east of Lebanon on State
Road 32. Union Township, Section 5.
Again if you look at a map of Indiana about 2 miles west of the intersection of 421 and
32. I know this cemetery well as my
parents, two brothers and sister are buried there as well as my great grandparents and
several aunts, uncles, and cousins. It
is well kept and is average size by country cemetery standards. . The church is located
on the same property and was
established sometime in the early 1800's. Joiletville is located about a half mile
east of the intersection of State Road 32
and 421, Union Township, probably section 34 or 35. Big Springs is a very small
community located north and east of this
intersection in Marion Township, Section 23 or 24. I am descended from Richardsons who
were founders of the Big Springs
community in 1831.
Hope this is of help to you.

Hello,
Does anyone know where TRADER'S POINT is/was? I think in the eastern
part of the county. One of my families had lived there for 35 years by
1880.
Can anyone tell me where MT. RUNS CHURCH is (twp and sec.)? I have
someone whose obiturary in 1935 in the Noblesville paper says he was
buried in the cemetery near this church in Boone Co. He died in
Jolietville and had grown up in "the Big Springs neighborhood".
My surnames in Boone County are GIFFORD and these families they married
into: BRAGG, KOLB and STANBROUGH.
Would appreciate any clues. Thanks
