Did you contact them re the "lost" answer to your query? I've had similar
things happen but a phone call with a polite <grin> inquiry about the lack
of response has always resulted in getting the needed information. These
people are mostly either civil servants (and greatly understaffed) or
volunteers. Requests do get lost in the cracks.
Also have you tried <
http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/>? They have posted all
of the original land warrants issued in each State. You may have to get
creative about spellings etc to find what you want.
If your Jonathan Willis/Wills did not have an original land warrant, you
could look at county deeds. Go online to <familysearch.com> and look in the
library catalog for the appropriate microfilm number. Then go to your
nearest Family History Center (FHC) and ask them to order the roll of
microfilm for you. It will cost about $5 to have access to it for a month.
